I am a senior majoring in biology with a chemistry minor.  I view dentistry like a puzzle that has many pieces that all must come together to create a personal masterpiece.  Just like the painter behind every canvas, there is a dentist behind every smile. I have chosen dentistry because restoring oral health and quite possibly improve someone’s lifestyle is a life-changing experience.  So, I immediately applied to UIC because of the amazing opportunities they have to offer.  The Pre-Dental Club gives students a vast amount of exposure to the outside world of dentistry, which is why I encourage anyone in the dental field to learn about the club.  I went to every meeting that I could go to my freshmen and sophomore year, and it was a continuous learning experience.  I enjoy doing extra-curricular that give me experience towards running my own practice, which is why I am an Honors College Ambassador, as well as doing research at the College of Dentistry.  Hope to see everyone at the meetings and events!

I am a senior majoring in Biology and minoring in Psychology here at UIC. Working in a dental office since high school has helped me confirm that being a dentist is the right choice for me. I have learned so much about the profession through engaging and life-changing lessons taught to me by not only various dentists, but also by other members of a dental team. I am a big believer in teamwork, because it has shaped my experiences not only in the dental office but in undergraduate research, schoolwork, and volunteering. This is a very competitive field, but I believe that at this stage, it is important to help one another to grow because eventually we will all be peers in the dental community- whether its referring patients to each other, attending conferences, or even partnering to open a dental office. Being a part of the Pre-Dental club since my freshman year and attending every meeting and event has shown me how wonderful and enriching it can be to be around a group of people with the same passion. I have learned from members and have also given advice to help other members. This motivates and inspires me for the future. As your Vice President this year, I am excited for what the entire executive board and I will bring to the table- and more importantly excited to hear ideas and feedback from all of you.

I am entering my super senior year, with a major in Biology and minors in Computer Science, Chemistry and Music. In addition to Treasurer of the Pre-dental club, I am also the President of the Ski and Snowboard club and Treasurer of the German club. Outside of school, I volunteer at Rush Hospital and work as a dental assistant at a dental office. Since transferring to UIC from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, the dental club has provided me with numerous opportunities and has helped guide my direction into dentistry.

I am a senior majoring in biochemistry. I knew I wanted to be a dentist when I had braces in 5th grade and loved seeing how my smile transformed. When I started college I began shadowing a couple of dentists regularly, and immediately confirmed that this path was the right one for me. So many of my interests are involved in a dental career such as artistic and engineering skills, science, organization, and being social and a teacher to patients. Other than PDC I also currently research in an organic chemistry lab on campus, enjoy the outdoors and hiking and being active, and I teach children how to swim. Hobbies of mine include dance, photography, costuming and robotics (I’m a comic nerd). I am a member of The American Student Dental Association, as well as Phi Theta Kappa and Alpha Mu Gamma – both of which I joined while at College of DuPage my first two years of college. Joining PDC when I transferred to UIC helped me make new friends, and find a group of individuals who shared my dreams and had to walk the same difficult yet rewarding path as myself.
