Who we are
The Pre-Dental Club of the University of Illinois at Chicago is a student-run campus organization that is dedicated to helping students on their way to pursuing a career in dentistry. Through guest speakers, workshops, field trips, community service, and social events, UIC PDC provides opportunities for pre-dental students to gain valuable knowledge and insight into dentistry and creates a place for pre-dental students to form friendships and network with one another.
Our Purpose:
Our Purpose:
- To supply our members with current information about health sciences.
- To provide a medium for guest speakers to come and speak to those interested in oral health care.
- To give back to the community by providing service oriented volunteer work.
- To provide academic support for our members in regards to course advice, the DAT, and dental school application process.
Guest Speakers
To provide members with insight into the dental school admissions process, different dental schools, and practicing dentistry UIC PDC invites dental school representatives to come speak about their respective dental school and dental professionals from the local community to come speak about their experience in the dental field.
Workshops
UIC PDC provides workshops covering a range of topics relevant to pre-dental students. Examples of such topics are: the process of preparing for and taking the Dental Admissions Test (DAT), learning and practicing manual dexterity, thinking ahead and creating a personalized four year plan, interviewing, how to find research opportunities on campus and more!
Volunteering
UIC PDC recognizes the importance of playing an active role in giving back to others. By providing community service opportunities, PDC hopes that members will be inspired to always take the time to be of service to others.
Social Events
Social events provide opportunities for members to get to know each other on a more personal level and to network with one another. Whether it be bowling or grabbing a bite to eat, these socials strive to create a feeling of community within PDC.
